2026 Final Run Maple Syrup

The 2026 First Run is a Lovely Dark Robust with a lot of maple heart.  It's got a really nice sweetness to it that you dont always see with Dark Robust.  It's really amazing how different First Run and Final Run are from each other.  First Run is always delicate and smooth often with tones of vanilla and a mild maple flavor while Final Run has a dominating flavor where maple powers through. 

A few years ago we introduced First Run Maple Syrup, a special and unique batch that is produced at the start of the sugaring season.  It's generally very mild in maple flavor and allows unique flavors like vanilla to shine through, often lost in stronger maple syrup.  At the other end of the season, just before we transition into a late season buddy flavor, we produce the heartiest syrup of the year.  In addition to a pronounced maple flavor there are hints of other tones produced as the chemistry inside the tree shifts as it wakes up from it's winter slumber. 

There is no snow left to insulate the trees and the ground warms.  Wild onions poke their heads out from underfoot, and the sun shines down with the promise of spring. 

This hearty batch signals the end of the season and is a celebration as we reflect on our harvest.  Final Run Syrup is a limited production run and packed exclusively in the half gallon size container.
